  • Holding up quite well. Plenty of dark berry fruit, with great components of herb, tea, and a bit of pepper spice (whole cluster). Nice creamy midpalate with nice acid support. Likely has several years of life left at least.

  • This wine has an old world quality to it, for better or worse. Rustic notes of raw meat, beef jerky, asparagus, and green peppercorns. Plenty of tannins. Not much of a finish though.

  • Just OK for me. The fruit had faded and the olive tapenade has become dominant. Not a bad thing, but I was looking for a bit more fruit and depth.

  • Decanted 2 hr. My third and final bottle, and what a pleasure all three of have been - and each one a very different experience to both. This one had the 'vanilla bean' thing going on - a phenomena I have a found in a few WA State Syrahs at the 7 to 10 years stage. More of a curiosity than a distraction, the second glass saw this fade as a lovley black rasberry and olive took hook hold - some really nice notes of sagebrush and such, and surprisingly structured at a decade in. I don't see improvement but should hold for another 5 years. Fun wine.

  • Was best after a few hours of bottle air. Olives, herbs, touch of dark fruit on the nose led to a medium weight palate showing everything from the nose plus a touch of bitter chocolate. Took a bit for fruit to show up but it's certainly there. Decent acid. 5ish hours after popping it started to clamp up, showing a touch of heat.
