The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, forest floor, espresso and oak. It tastes like prune and oak. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

Interesting wine. This is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, but 69% of the grapes come from Lake County, 17% from Sonoma County and 14% from Napa County; aged in 70% French and 30% American oak. The nose is bold and intense, showing off black cherry, blackberry, spices, cedar and coffee beans. On the palate the oak is more evident than on the nose, but it has a juicy cherry profile and a nice powder cocoa kind of dustiness that gives it several layers of flavor. The tannins are just right, if you don't mind them like I do and the finish brings up some sweet licorice, but unfortunately it is a bit hot. The second day the heat was gone, which made me think I should have poured it into a decanter (retail $17.99)
