opened by a friend this afternoon. carneros fruit. not only have i never had a wine from this producer, all i could think of was how cool carneros is, and that it was less than an optimal appellation for this varietal.
this smelled and tasted like an aged right bank bordeaux. it was pretty damn tasty. i regret not getting a peek at the alcohol rating, but it drank like it was well under 14%. way more brown in the color than i expected. served blind, i seriously would have guessed anything but california merlot. recommended, but insufficient knowledge/ reference point to score.
