  • Violet, vanilla, fruity, no acid, minimal tannin. Too oaky, and too ripe but mildly extracted. Very much like a lighter, sweet Rioja like Artadi. Although pleasurable, there is no way this merits the 90pts on the promo; It didn't merit the "on sale" price of $35, let alone the "regular price" of $65. There is one redeeming factor: I wish the random restaurant house cabs all had this pleasant, fruity quality. I got to compare with the 2002; almost the same wine, so again, this demonstrates demonstrates basic technical execution, but not much craft.
