I've been sitting on this for almost eleven years and decided to see what it has going for it. Took a very long time to get anything from the nose, but the wait is worth it. Getting some dried strawberries and a bot of coffee grounds. The palate is a little harsh, giving off some cranberries and some peppers and also agree with others of exotic spices. Overall it is quite nice, certainly would qualify as an excellent quality wine, but the slight bitterness prevents this from getting a higher score than 91 at this time.

Tasted double blind. Lots of spices and high density here. At first I thought of Aussie Shiraz but then switched to CDP. This was drinking well but it’s not a wine I would chase, not enough complexity and precision and a bit too heavy.
TN: Dark and dense nose with some pepper. Medium- expressive and precise. Good amount of dark fruit, lots of exotic spices and pepper. Very good freshness and satin-like tannins. A bit too dense and not deep enough and the alcohol showed a bit which impaired the overall impression.
Decanting: Decanted for roughly 2+ hours which seemed right.

Smoky, blueberry nose with leanish but still pleasant blueberry, leather and earth notes. I'd drink this 1-2 years. Lots of cracked pepper and a bit of heat along with moderate tannic impact on the finish.

I was worried these might be getting over the hill. I was wrong. This wine is in a beautiful place now and has a few years left.

Plum, cranberry, organic in the nose with lean blueberry, brush and slight vegetal notes. Drink in 2019.
