tasted blind, amongst more than a dozen 1982s, and it was my favorite, besting all the bordeaux at the table to my amazement. nose - celery, cherry, strawberry mouth - lively, sappy, full bodied, packing a mature broad fruit punchy flavor while being crisp and lean and....minerally. not at all betraying its age, a complex 30+ year old wine, wow!

Opened the worst looking bottle to try first. Cork was destroyed and took time to remove. Very musty when opened but that blew off n about 20 minutes. Over the next hour very deep flavors — cherry, paprika, others — that changed every 10-15 minutes. After it had been open about 1.5 hours it was no good. Was an interesting experience to see how the wine rapidly changed. (February 2010)

So-so. Past it's prime, but good. Surprisingly good with yams.

Yummy as usual, took 35 minutes for the fruit to wake up.

This bottle was much better than previous ones. Great robust flavor. Not musty. Good from moments after opening and for several hours.
