  • Appealing nose of tropical fruit; pineapple dominant. Fresh pear and pineapple in the mouth, with a touch of just-barely-bitter acidity on the finish, fairly mouth-filling and rather tasty. Balance is good, although could be better (the acidity on the finish throws it off, and the wine has just enough residual sugar for it to be noticeable). Finish is long.

A good chard for having with light fare; I'd love to have it with mahi-mahi in a mango salsa.

New York Cork Report

(Castello di Borghese Chardonnay) This steel-fermented chardonnay is medium bodied with bushels of fresh apples and citrus on the nose and just a little brown spice—the result of aging in older oak barrels. On the palate, there are more apples—ripe and roasted—along with some slightly tropical flavors and vanilla spice.
