Cedar, dried cherry, and earth/mushroom on the nose. The palate is very earthy and there are zinging cherry notes. The acidity is very much alive. The finish is a bit short, and ultimately the depth is no match for their BdM. But for $35, this is excellent.

I am a big fan of Salvioni, but never had their Rosso di Montalcino. Have to change that. Spectacular wine, that can hold its own with most Brunellos. Great balance, complexity and elegance.

Depends on how much you enjoy the fresh fruit of Sangiovese or the mature version but I would not hold on to this much longer. For me, this is at peak or slightly past. 2007 is not going to make old bones but 9 years for a rosso at this level is just right.

Well made. This is great right now. Wonderful nose. Well balanced with smooth tannins. Complex with a great finish. Outstanding. If you don't like this you don't like Sangiovese.
