Wine is a little hazy due to age related sediment. Brightness - wine is dull (due to aforementioned age). Color is medium ruby, just starting to approach garnet. Obvious rim variation suggests age.
Red fruit plays lead: tart red cherry, pomegranate, cranberry. Rose petals. Herbal character - definitely anise. French oak is evident on this wine, but in no way overpowering.
Acid is med (+); Viscosity is med; Alcohol is med; Tannin is med (+) -- very resolved, but still leaves very noticeable fine dusty coating in mouth, felt like. Finish is med to med (+) - highlighted by acidity and lingering fruit.
This bottle was not quite as integrated and elegant as I remember the last one being. May give the 3rd bottle another year before tasting.

Beautiful wine which has aged elegantly. Age is evident on color - brick red in glass. Nose is complex and inviting - no singular element steals the aromatic show. Age has added some nice oxidative carmelization to aromatics. Delicate, silky tannins which have resolved nicely. Acid is med (+), viscosity is med, finish is long. Kirsch, strawberry, caramel interlaced with background minerality. Overall, this wine is very integrated; all the elements working harmoniously with each other.
Everyone's favorite of the night. This wine is a great value.

No sign of fatigue. Still vibrant with good fruit and acidity, fine nose with medium finish and a round body, good!
