0.375 L bottle, mid Apr 2014: brick red; lacteal and reductive directly after opening; after 10 minutes cassis and black berry in the nose; coffee, cherry and butter-like flavors in the mouth; some moments of an unpleasant bitterness; medium body; weak tannins.
This wine was ripe. Drink it.

Brad brought over to my crib. Cloudy medium purple color. Some slight signs of age. Nose shows muted berries, some mild funk. Not interesting or very present nose as a whole. Palate shows a little weight and low complexity. The fruit just isn't here anymore. Past it's prime.

We decanted for an hour. The color was very dull, almost brown. Not much in the nose. However, the mouth-feel was very impressive. The finish was a solid 45 seconds. Mostly red fruit on the palate. We all were surprised by this one.

With Jill, Brill, Brad and Jen over Top Chef New York and Homemade Cast Iron Skillet Mac n Cheese. Muted fruit. Not much on the nose at all. Some sour cherry, cranberry and leather. Alot more going on in the mouth. More gripping tannins and structure but still little fruit. A bit past its prime maybe.

Wine is dead. Long past its prime. May have been stored poorly. Undrinkable at this point.
