Still drinking great. It was still vibrant and full of fruit - I could not tell it was a 23 year old bottle. Strong, concentrated berry flavor with a lovely, long finish.

Pre-1998 US Pinot Tasting (My home - Chicago IL): Tasted blind. My last place wine at the tasting (excluding the corked bottle), group's 2nd favorite. Ultra New world, very ripe fruit that i could easily have mistaken for Grenache, a bit short on acid and textures for me.

Pre-98 Cali Pinot Group #2, My #5 - Full red/purple. Medium canned red/black fruit with acidity. Medium red canned tomoate fruit. Long sour finish. Surprised others like this so much better. 5/06

Fantastic. Still dark red and showing no signs of being 9 years old. Nose was a little tight right out of the bottle. After opening up for a few minutes, the nose smelled of cherries with hints of anise. The palate was round and lush, filled with dark cherries. As the evening progressed, the palate evolved, taking on some chocolate notes. Later still, toward the end of the bottle, the nose picked up hints of wintergreen in addition to the other flavors. This was a remarkably complex, well-balance, and enjoyable wine. However, what I liked best was the way it evolved and changed over the course of the evening. While this is great to drink now, it will certainly last for at least 3-5 more years.
