  • Two Days in Paris; 5/27/2011-5/28/2011 (Paris): A lovely digestif - the waiter at Ze Kitchen Galerie mistakenly told me it was a 1975, but apologised with a double-pour. No complains here. This had a beautiful nose replete with caramel and chocolate, sultanas and dried figs and a touch of mahogany wood. The palate was nicely balanced, with rancio flavours wed to gentle spice, some wood, lime zest and orange peel, all beautiful resolved with silky tannins and a long, smooth finished that lingered with notes of raisin and dark chocolate. A lovely way to end a delicious dinner before stepping out of the restaurant and into the chilly night air.
