  • Tangerine and pear, slight petrol, honey, and a spicy medium long finish. Probably not going to get any better.

  • This wine grew on me. A little disappointing at first as it unfortunately didn't have enough cut to stand up to the herbed chicken, but much better on its own. Very nicely balanced, with delicate sweetness and no rough edges. Lot of apples, raisins and a touch of spice on the palate. Medium finish and length. Nothing complex, but easy to just sip. Based on acidity levels, I would say time to drink up.

  • Beautiful golden color. Good mouth feel. Great acidity, which, with its slight residual honeyed sweetness, made this wine a terrific pairing with caramelized baked beans and corn pudding.

  • pretty good...could use 2 to 3 years to round out.

  • Got this as a free sample from a sales rep after he'd popped and poured it for one account. I'm glad this was free - if I'd paid good money for it from a shop, I'd have gone back with a white glove and demanded satisfaction. If I owned a restaurant and my sommelier bought it for the wine list, I'd fire the sommelier. If I got it from a trusted friend who knew the wine, I'd be done trusting them... about wine, and possibly other matters as well. This is just unpleasant and unbalanced, smelling of tinned peaches and lychee and tasting of metal-tainted fruit. The finish is broadly offensive, an unusual combination of flabbiness and frisson, where what little acidity can be found is volatile in nature. I would give this a pass as a flawed bottle, but the volatile acidity is just one of a series of regrettable faults one must contend with here. Gassmann's wont to retain some sugar in the wine for lusciousness and body was an unfortunate decision here, as it just throws the disjointedness and fake-tasting fruit into bolder relief. Not a good wine at any price. Again, thank heavens this was free; I wouldn't pay a dime for it.
