Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Soft orchard fruit on the nose. No petrol notes. Intense, concentrated, and sweet on the palate, like baked apples smothered in honey, but just enough acidity to keep the wine balanced and refreshing. Medium body. Nectar like.

I enjoyed this wine, but the botrytis seems to have obscured a lot of the underlying minerality and terroir nuances that I look for in Mosel riesling. I read that 1994 was a heavily botrytized year, and that was readily apparent. But, it wasn't overripe or unpleasant (no overt apricot flavors).
