  • This wine was found in my father's wine refrigerator and was WAY past its prime drink window. I gave it a shot and it was very sweet and syrup-like, as expected with drinking 20 years later. :) My father isn't with me any more, so I had to risk it.

I don't think it is fair to rate this wine because of its age, but there was enough there that I'm interested in trying a fresh bottle this time and trying to get a better feel for what my father enjoyed in this particular wine.

  • A bright amber sticky that must have had more appeal than I now recall. It lacks the acidity needed to carry it off. Not a bad effort, but not memorable for its likeable qualities. The nose evokes candied apricot, honey, honey comb, orange marmalade and almonds. But the finish is a bit bitter and short. It works; it just doesn’t work well.
