Full garnet colored; muted nose of ripe plum and cherry but clearly burgundian; pleasant palate with similar qualities. Softly textured and, again, muted and subdued character to it. Perhaps pasteurizing does cook at least some of the life out of a wine(?)

Deep maroon with brick tint, lighter at rim. Perhaps past prime, but still drinking very well now and for another 6-12 months. Very smooth, no tannins, no fruit left, just hint of soy and old oak.

Red fruit (cherry), nice acidity, minerality, slight spice. Well
integrated. Slight beef jus. Good finish.

Update after 10 days in fridge, still smooth, harmonious and drinking beautifully.

Even better after putting cork back in and putting leftover in fridge for 10 days. Smoother, better balance, with hint of underlying barnyard.
