  • Appearance: Bright and clear, medium gold in color, with watery rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, medium (+) intensity and having developing aromas of ripe pear, apricot, tropical fruit, mushroom, vanilla, toast and hints of sweet spice.
Palate: Dry with medium (+) and lively acidity, the wine is of medium (+) alcohol and medium (+) body, showing medium intensity flavors of pear, tropical fruit, walnut, butterscotch and coconut, with medium length.
Conclusion: Good US high-priced Chardonnay with a strong American oak influence. Fairly intense on the nose, showing development characters along with fruit and oak, with interesting signs of maturity for its vintage. Balancing well the high alcohol with the acidity and intensity, the palate is reasonably complex with some pronounced nutty flavors accompanying a reasonable length. Ready to drink now and can be further develop for another 2-3 years.

  • One of the fiew Monterey Chards that actually measures up to some of it's California neighbors. Impressive, I've had some real dogs from this region. It's kind of like a butter dipped, Granny Smith apple with a dash of pineapple. Nice acidity, medium finish and body. Good stuff for the price. I personally prefer a richer Chardonnay that isn't quite so tart, but this is tasty.

  • Rich, chardonnay nose. Has decent acidity. Not my cup of tea, but much better in my view than the Sonoma Coast bottling.

  • Nice, but a bit light for a Chardonnay

  • Beautiful french apple tart, with plump raisins and a golden crust... significant butter, baked apple and golden raisin, with some green fruit on the edge. Soft on entrance, with med+ acid, touch of banana, baked apple, bright finish. Well balanced, and a yummy wine.
