Slow-O 1 hour, should have been aerated in decanter. A bit reductive this time around, but it did open up and really stepped up its game when the food was served; on its own I wasn't too terribly interested like I was with the 2006 bottling. 14,0% abv, recommended for solid QPR, drink thru 2015, score: B/B+

This is pretty delicious. Bright red fruits, hints of mint, a touch of heat on a finish that is otherwise quite impressive for a CDR. Medium bodied. Bright, well balanced. This is quite nice. I'd drink it over the next few years.

Drank over 2 nights, with night #1 showing the best. Give this a quick aeration to let the alcohol and sappy fruit blow off. This was mostly clumsy, but it did manage to pack some dense berry fruit and chunky tannins. Kirsch, cherry and herbs dominate the nose and palate once it's opened, but nothing overly complex here. Lacks acidity and enough pure fruit for extended cellaring. A mid-week quaff that needs to rest for another 12-18 months before it has settled down. Drink thru 2015, approx $15.
