quite nice- I'd buy again. dark fruit, some pepper and a hint of smoke or leather maybe at the end... Like another reviewer, I'd recommend decanting a bit

When I first opened this up I was reminded of a time I left a cedar plank on my BBQ for too long, kind of a scorched wood. After 2-3 hours the nose had softened – nor more charred wood – it is a bit soapy with some soft florals. Earlier this wine had a strong smoky taste, now it is more peppery with berries. I am getting a lot of secondary characteristics that I can’t quite put my finger on – perhaps mint, methanol and a bit bitter. I am sure this dark black wine will easily last another half dozen years. I would suggest opening this up about 3 hours before you want to drink it. Be sure to sneak a few sips. It is different and I like it. 88-89

Phenomenal wine. Sad to see the last bottle leave the cellar. Total cedar and smoke. Wow!
