  • Medium darker ruby color lightening up into orange towards the rim. Notes of smoke, graphite, black and dark red berries, some flowery notes too, pepper and some cedar wood, christmas spices and also some sous-bois. It‘s medium-full bodied, has medium+ acidity and barely any recognizable tannin. Good length. A perfectly mature Pommard that is drinking really nicely now.

  • Still pretty intense and medium-darker ruby/garnet color with a touch of bricking towards the rim. Cork was in perfect shape. Aged but still totally lively notes of dark minerality, some pepper, flowery notes, also some black berries and blue berries. Notes of leather, christmas spices and aged notes of sous-bois and mushroomy earthiness. It‘s medium-full bodied, the tannin has melted away completely and there is still some medium+ acidity providing freshness. Medium length. Not the last word about complexity but an incredibly well-aged Pommard and a testament to the ageworthiness of Pommard if properly stored. This was bottle one of two (and the one with the lower filling), so I hope the 2nd one will be even fresher. Fascinating wine and a really beautiful drink at age 22...

  • Mid garnet colour, classic PN nose wafted straight from the bottle.Opened and decanted for an hour , no crust. A lovely wine of medium weight with soft tannins which were long enough to complement Nigella Lawsons
"White Trash Dinner" - ham boiled in coke, then roasted in dijon mustard and brown sugar glaze and served with roast potatoes and cumberland sauce.
    Magnificent!
