  • Light fruit. Smooth and pleasant. Opens to more complex dried fruit flavors. A fun bottle.

  • This bottle has been perfectly cellared since release. Dark red with some rust hues near the edge of the glass. Reserved nose delivering some dark fruit and some secondary aromas. Still delivering some fairly vibrant fruit on the palate along with an interesting earthiness. Flavors become a fairly simple cranberry/grape juice by the mid-palate and the finish is a bit tart. Totally resolved tannin. Nice length on the finish. Overall, an impressive showing for a very cheap wine at 15 years of age.

  • So found this at a friends house. Hey I remember these wines! I said we needed to pop it. This bottle has been sitting around since release. Not consistently stored. No doubt saw some time in a hot SoCal garage too. This would have been a max $5 back in '97. Considering that, this wine should come in at near 100 pts. Labeled at 13%. After carefully taking the cork out we poured some glasses and wow. Very nice big red fruits on the nose. Smells so fresh. More of the same on the palate. Based on the color and the just emerging secondary qualities, I would have thought this closer to 7-9 years old. Very tasty. I know we had this in the house on occasion back in the 90s and I know I never enjoyed a bottle this much. Should have socked away some bottles.

  • A light red or rusty color. Muted nose of leather and plum. Leather, tobacco and some blackbrery notes. Very dry. Short, "lost" finish. Way past its prime.

  • PLUMS IN THE NOSE. PLUMS, DEEP FRUIT IN THE FLAVOR. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
