Popped and vinturi'd. Nose of blackberry, vanilla/oak and slight alc. Truthfully the only reason I picked this up, is I grew up in the Santa Clara Valley, and some good wine comes from the region. Pretty simple, easy quaffing wine, w/flavors of blackberry and a little spice. Having looked at the website, certainly overpriced at $26 bottle, for this quality. For the $4.99 at Grocery Outlet in Portland, a very nice value. Portlanders, at this price, well worth a try.

Siciila en Bocca Restaurant: Intense herbal aromas of clove, bay, pepper, stems, and minerals, followed by intense tart blueberry and earth. It seemed hot for my red pasta and meatballs, with a peppery finish in the throat and tart blueberry aftertaste. Inconsistent with my previous note a bit.

Soft but flavorful, with very nice floral aromas and easy finish. Nothing harsh here. Linda loved it more than I. I thought it too dark and heavy for the light ravioli and veal in light tomato sauce. It developed more aromas and flavors through out the meal. Easy to drink.
