Very easy to drink, strong dark fruits with earthy overtones, plum and fig edges a very pleasant drink with deep pallet The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like prune, fig, plum, cedar, vanilla, tea, game and alcohol/hot. It tastes like blackberry, raspberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), prune, plum, cedar, vanilla and tea. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Dark purple 1st nose: sweet and ripe New wourld black fruit, fig 2nd nose: very ripe blackcurrant gum but not jam, vanilla, some heat Palate: smooth, very sweet and soft tannin backed up by acidity Medium prune finish with a hint of cream Easy drinking, simple, and definitely New world, not structured and subtle enough.

Dark ruby red, firm and full-bodied, very cabernet, young and tannic, bitterness is minimal and acceptable, overall tannin too strong and not a pleasant wine at this moment, perfer the Shiraz much more

I can understand why this wine has had mixed reviews over various vintages. It's one of those "Marmite" wines, i.e. you either love it or hate it. Personally I love it, it's a big dark wine with quite concentrated Cabernet characteristics and needs to be drunk with the right food. It has grip, (which some have described as tart) quite strong vanilla notes from the oak. But to my palate well matched with good fruit. If you're looking for an easy drinking glugger steer well clear.
