Unbelievable! It is not over its peak. According to the folks at Chateau Montalena it should do well in a cellar until 2023. I got nervous because of the recommendation in this app but no need to. Amazing color and superb taste! Loving it.

Lovely medium golden yellow color. Layered nose with florals, vanilla, lemon, some cream and apple. Great balance on the palate with a rich but bright mouth feel and flavors that reflect the nose. Really lovely and quite a bit fresher than the 2001 and 2004 we have had in the lst week. Great fruit, acidity and minerals on the finish.

Color: deep straw Nose: fresh, pear, petrol Taste: butterscotch, toasted almond, pear
Excellent glycerine mouthfeel filling the pallet with butterscotch, toasted almond and crisp pear with a long lingering finish. This is sublime. #treasuresfromthecellar

Gorgeous bright honey-lemon color with a huge nose of Asian pear, pear, lemon and vanilla. The 30% new French oak probably contributed the vanilla and the lack of any malolactic fermentation had kept this bright and vibrant despite its 10 years of age. Palate reflects the nose with maybe a hint of green apple but the Asian pear seems more prominent to me. Long luxuriously rich finish. Still strong acid structure suggests a decent life still ahead. Great with sea scallops.

Amazingly youthful, pale yellow, brisk acidity, lemon, citrus, fresh pear, very minimal oak, drank beside a Grand Cru Chablis which it outperformed
