Since the 2007 was listed as one of WS Top 100 wines, I thought I'd pick up what I could find. Admittedly, not the same vintage. I thought that the wine was good for $9.00. I would select Jacob's Creek Reserve instead for the price. The Shoofly was a little hot, and had an astringent finish. Mid-palate displayed fairly typical Oz Shiraz. I may not buy the 2007 at an inflated price, because there are plenty of great Syrah and Shiraz at a decent price from California and Australia.

Had a couple of glasses at B & B's in Pelham to watch NFL Playoff games. Ripe red cherries & blackberry aromas w/mild spice & hint of mineral. Sweet dark berry & cherry flavors w/slight tart finish. Very soft tannins w/light acidity, and a moderate finish.

Decent $10 shiraz. Good balance - fruity, but not overwhelming so. Not sophisticated, but somewhat perfect for a picnic outside with friends that are not big into wine

Restrained nose, with dusty red cherries. Richish body, medium tannin and acid. Definitely Aussie style, with a light jamminess, but not over the top. Simple black cherry flavors. $11

From memory, didn't take formal notes...but somewhat restrained and in balanced, not crazy over the top.
