(Coonawarra Brunner@Adel's w Alex et al) [vertical with 1991 and 2000; parallel with the Orlando St Hugo] The most forward and boldest of the three Zema's, this was inky black in glass. Similarly inky nose (squid ink?), blackberries, plums, rich and dark floral perfume, lined with soft young leather and black pepper. Richly concentrated on the palate, with more leathers, this was rich, ripe and juicy, yet clean with pepper, prune, green herbs, with a rather striking clean fruit purity. Finishes with more rounded soft fruit, and florals. Rather similar to the Orlando St Hugo, if slightly spicier and more preferable.
Nose: Clean, pronounced ripe fruit intensity with slightly oak aged bouguet development. Aroma of plum and ginger spice.
Palate: Dry, mdium acidity, medium ripe tannin. Full body, pronounced plum, blackberry fruit flavour and little ginger spice, together with almond and smoke oak vegetal characters. Finish long.
Conclusions: Good quality Coonawarra Cabernet Savuignon. Drinking well now but should able to keep for another couple years.

Drinking so well. red berries, currant, camphor wood hints, high acid has helped longevity. Menthols, eucalypt hints indicate origin.
So nice.

Drank at 22 years old. I didn't expect much, but was surprised by the clean cabernet fruit this delivered.

Mercaptan smell somewhat mitigated by a long breathing period.
