We are not sophisticated wine drinkers but we know what we like. We expected little b/c this was so old. Pleasantly surprised! It was very good. Still had some complexity. We paired with smoked hamburgers sautéed mushrooms, onions and some home frozen chopped hatch green chili. What a delight! Don’t be afraid. If you have a bottle -enjoy.

Aromatic and deep color. Composition: malbec, cabernet sauvignon. Color: deep red with purple hue. Aroma: blackberry, blueberry, cherries, hint of anise (flavor, which resembles liquorice, fennel, and tarragon), and dark chocolate. Flavor: blackberries, cherries, ripe plums with hint of dark chocolate

Tour - Napa / Sonoma 2009; 8/25/2009-8/29/2009 (Napa / Sonoma, CA): Taste initially "wow" with big bold front end, berry, vanilla, soft velvety texture. (Wife rated it 90). Use local grapes only - no imported grapes (Argentina, etc.). There are much better Malbecs out there for this price point of $36 - overpriced. Tasted at Rutherford Hill Winery on Napa trip. $15 for tastings.
