The Verticals at La Paulée 2017 (The Rainbow Room, New York): Healthy yellow for age. Whiff of truffle. Rounder entry not due to wood but more old vine creaminess. Some orange that is subdued. Excellent secondary complexity and length. At its peak now, fully mature. One of the best older white wines of the tasting.

Straight from the cellar. Mid gold, tears. Somewhat subdued nose, mostly of smoke. More smoke on the palate, so much so I feared a bit of ox, but after half an hour I think not. Rather a lovely expressive wine, rich, intense, lanolin, tar and -- yes, more smoke. Gets the juices flowing. Plenty of length. Good stuff.

La Paulée Verticals Tasting (Rainbow Room NYC): In a great place right now. Still young but showing some nice secondary. A great flight of whites from Jadot.
