Served blind. The oak on this wine turned me off. Too much in the aroma and palate. Glossy in texture with anise, yellow apple, fennel and some caramel with vanilla bean. Reminds me of cinnamon apple sauce, honestly. I' just don't dig wines that take like this anymore. The 2016 Liquid Farm Bien Bien Chard poured next to it just beat it hands down too, for what it's worth.

Initially, Apple and rhubarb; over an hour in the glass, lemon zest and blood orange emerge. Sous boos dominates: fascinating, mushroom. High acid, some smoke.

Tasted non blind with dinner. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about 90 minutes.
Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of talc, vanilla, honey and yellow pears. Flavors of vanilla, yellow pears and a hint of lemon on the finish. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink now.

Medium golden straw color; clear. Vanilla, coconut, almond and a little bit of roasted banana aromas. Viscous in the mouth, the fruit is repressed by the winemaking and oak treatment. Sourced from the winery.

Late Summer Afternoon Outside with Friends (Lake Forest IL): Spicy aromas with very ripe apple plus some tropical fruit. Palate slightly less interesting, somewhat short and starting to mature quite early. Drink up in next year or two.
