This bottle had started leaking a bit, so I opened it fearing the worst. It was still good, and the wine still needed about 45 minutes to open up. Terrific after that, just a wonderful wine!

Amazing, perfectly balanced. Needs about 45-60 minutes of decanting, and then the wine settles into a smooth, luscious Pinot reminiscent of the best Oregon has to offer. More feminine in style, neither a fruit bomb nor a barnyard romp. Just right. One of my favorite wines of all time, drinking perfectly now.

Slightly better in all respects compared to the 2003 Le Nord, but also starting to reach end of cellar time, slight oxidation; recommend drinking any 2003 stock now. Better structure and longer finish than the Le Nord. Opens in glass, elegant, smooth, excellent fruit.

Opened to consider a decant and found a huge nose of black cherries and concentrated raspberry. Body was thickly concentrated (both in taste and texture) fruit, mostly raspberry, with some acidity behind it. No hint of oak. I recorked the bottle without decanting.
Served two hours later, the nose was not diminished at all, but the fruit on the palate had stepped back a notch, allowing a finer balance of acidity and sugar, and secondary characteristics (some mint/eucalyptus shimmering and rich, savory flavors) were peeking through. Texture was fantastic, velvety and lush. I expected to maybe find some tannin showing through, but it was buried. Towards the end of the bottle the oak became evident in the nose.
A great bottle of wine.

Probably at or near peak. Drinking well immediately, which is why I say that. Such a lovely wine!
