The stellar balance of fruit, acids and tannins held this wine together for decades Held strong over several hours and out classed a 1966 Cos D’Estournel.

From memory.. Very mature bottle of Napa Valley Cabernet pallet showed significant mound of age to it. Doing tertiary then nose in power. Fun to drink, a good birth year celebration wine.

Wow wine. In my cellar since release. Muted at first with popped and poured. The nose of leather, cedar and secondary notes expanded with air. Palate also develped in the glass. Rich, soft and long. Super wine.

Drunk at the Fine Wine Experience Mature California and Australian Wines from the Cellar of John Avery Dinner at Flint Bar and Grill, JW Marriott Hong Kong. A smooth wine with well integrated tannins but a little flat. I suspect its seen better days.

Having tasted this wine a few years ago, this wine has clearly peaked. However, it is still holding on beautifully. Nice, fully developed cedary cigar box aromas. There's almost a sweetness to the remaining fruit. Does anyone in California still make wine like this? A treat...
