Intense goldish yellow, citrus and peppery nose, dried lawnmover. On the palate chalky, citrus fruit galore, mango and some white pepper - very long, great acidity along with a great texture. Potential! 90++

Well made dry Grüner Veltliner wine from the Traisental valley (loess soils), that was aged for 5 months, half in large acacia wood casks and half in stainless steel. Beautiful straw yellow in color with greenish hues and an intense nose of peach, grapefruit, white pepper and tones of dried grass. Well balanced and concentrated on the palate, with delicate herbal tones, a fine structured and refreshing acidity and a good fruit extraction. Clean, long finish with the typical Grüner Veltliner spiciness.

This wine is still fairly tight, and while the fruit seems clean and fresh on the palate, the nose is a bit closed down right now. A satisfying, fresh mouthfeel, an above-average persistence, and a slightly layered finish with a hint of apricot and stone fruits. Approx $33, drink thru 2012
