This wine has aged gracefully and improved in character and depth since my last tasting 4+ years ago. While I've been consistently captivated by Sean's artistry with Cabernet, his efforts with Pinot Noir warrant more of my attention...

nose - cinnamon, clove, per lisa, caramel. sweet floral. Barrel nose mouth - juicy tight dark berry fruit. You get a fleeting glimpse of sweet yummy fruit. overall tight nit. Big clovey oaky finish. Needs time to integrate. 5 years or so.

Well shut my mouth. This wine done gone and surprised us all. Rustic bright cherry red center with a touch of orange at the rim, complex nose of mint, cinnamon, red cherries, wood chips, and dusty smoke (not the forest fire kind). Palate a lovely acid refreshed take on ripe California fruit, with rustic red berries, orange rind and forest floor flavors, fine, medium finish.
I had always thought this might blossom into something special, but this is beyond my expectations. Not French, Not Californian, no stereotypes, just Capiaux Chimera. Lovely and distinctive.
