Loved this wine at release, but was always on the rustic/ harsh side. Time has been really good to this wine. Loved the rustic, coarse texture of this wine. With time, it has softened out. PnP, to my surprise, did not need a decant. Blackberry, anise, cassis, cedar and herbs on the nose. Beautiful mouthfeel. Cassis, black fruits, spice, tobacco, cedar and herbs on the palate. The tannins used to be very harsh, but now are very soft in a long smooth finish. One bottle left. based on this bottle, no hurry to open the last.

No signs of bricking or fading. Started out tight, but opened up over the course of a few hours to allow those wonderful sweet Oakville tannins to emerge.

Popped and poured. This may be the best showing of 5 bottles of this consumed. Tannins are largely resolved, though enough remains to give it some structure. Quite aromatically expressive. Smooth and balanced on the palate. What one hopes for in a mid-term CA cab. I'm not sure I see this getting dramatically better.
