This was in bottle shock when first carafed, but after another hour or so it came right around. Wonderfully mellowed and mature. Nice minerality with a bit of funk in the nose...lovely dark berries and just a bit of spice. Hints of licorice and smoke and leather. A great example of Central CA Syrah.

Very nice on the nose with berries and some spice. Also great on the palate, although less body than you expect from a Syrah. Took it to a BYO, and for some strange reason we ordered fishes - cod in white wine sauce and pompano. Even stranger, the pairings went extremely well, probably because this is a very light Syrah. Brought three bottles home to the East Coast from the winery. I now wish I had bought more.

Bright but elegant nose of red fruit, pipe tobacco, cinnamon and bacon that evolves and shows alot more cedar and mocha as it sits in the glass. The palate is feminine and much more old-world stylistically than alot of Cali Syrah. Tannins are round and clean with plenty of bright acidity that keep the wine interesting. The wine also has this great, smoky, gamey finish that does linger despite a slight lack in mid-palate fireworks. This one has enough structure to go for another 6-8 years, if not more.

ruby color with garnet at the edges, bouquet of wood, cotton, toffee and solvents. A light, buttery range of flavors and mild tannins.
