Epic night at Capasso. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of garden flowers, light green herb (dissipates later on with more air), red cherries, strawberry, fresh stoney earth, sous bois with more air. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of lovely dancing strawberries, super elegant red cherries, red licorice, fresh stoney earth, flowers in mouth. Clean purity mouth-feel. Lovely long finish. Excellent quality. Svelte Chambertin. Elegance and readiness of the 07 vintage here. Fruits actually get more exuberant and increasingly dancing on the tongue with more air. Bottle was emptied pretty fast. No hurry to drink this if you still have.

The colour is mid-red tending towards garnet. Medium to full on the palate, although it seemed a touch lean at first. However, it opened out to provide a mix of red fruits with a more savoury, meaty character. Certainly very good, but not the best Rousseau wine I have had by some way, although not the best vintage either.

Started a little disjointed with some dirty socks smells. But came together nicely. Game, umami, underwood. More black than red fruits. Masculine. Top quality Gevrey for the vintage.

Dinner with Dany and Pol in Verrières. Incredible Chambertin, structured but elegant.
