After reviewing the tasting notes listed below I was surprised when the delightful red fruit one would hope for and expect from this wine erupted onto the palate with the first sip. The length was impressively long and gently spiced. Bravo for 2007 and I can only surmise that the wine had been closed on earlier tastings.

From a 375 ml. Light ruby color with pale edges. Subdued nose. Some remaining fruit and acidity, some complexity, although a bit lean and austere. Might be starting to fade, so I would not sit on this wine.

Very lean, funky nose. Light to medium in body, with a tick of heat, and low concentration. Not a good combination as it were, and finishes flat on top of that. Maybe not a representative bottle, but seems believable enough.

-- tasted a single pour blind over approx. 45 minutes --
NOSE: savory; leafy; raspberry; spicy.
BODY: rustic red color w/bricking at edges --- color is of medium-light depth; medium-light bodied.
TASTE: good acid; over the hill; short finish; red fruited; finish is almost non-existent; tasted blind, I thought this was an older New World Pinot Noir; frightening how unimpressive this was --- provenance concerns about this bottle. {same bottle as Robert Pavlovich's 1/18/2015 note}

Very apealing rustic profile. Nicely evolving with dry, stewed fruit, underbrush with sweet tannins, for an elegant, lean and light palate. Love it.
