A generous friend pulled this out for our visit. Some bricking. Really nice, mature Burg on the nose and palate. Have not tasted this before, but it felt like the fruit was starting to drop out a bit and the tertiary flavors were starting to take over. Balanced with good acidity that did not really stick out at all. Not the greatest depth and concentration, but still super enjoyable.

Tasted over 2 hrs -med dark red faint violet mild bricking -faint juicy dark fruit with a bit of maturity funk -med/med+ acidity, med/med- weight faded dark red/purple fruit with an earthy slightly medicinal iron minerality, med- tannins are a bit dried out -this is on a slow decline, its age is manifesting as a loss of freshness and vibrancy rather than gaining complexity, better 5 years ago

7/14/22 For Bastille Day This is finally coming into its own. A lovely nose, stemmy with red fruits, undergrowth, and some earthy savory notes. Supple and mid weighted on the palate with a sense of sap and power carried with grace. Broad, yet graceful on the palate with terrific sense of balance. There is a textural softness and cashmere like feel from the stems. Some lovely spice menthol notes as well. More red fruits, earth, moss and some basil like stems notes at first and with air time, beautiful florals and cooler blue Morey fruit come to the fore. A beautiful "push you over with a feather" wine. Not powerful but with quiet intensity and harmony. Quite long on the back end. Punches well above its weight. Drinking beautifully with plenty of time in hand. 93

Chardonnays and Pinots of North London (Must & Lees): Lots of complexity here, and deliciousness too: liquorice, smoke, juicy dark fruit and a creaminess. Really well integrated and drinking fantastically. Sensational stuff, and group red #2 of the evening.

North London TWS Tastings series: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (Must and Lees, N1): Notes were failing at this stage
Nose of dusty but ripe blue plum, evolved florals.
Palate is very fresh, a lightness to it but a long finish. Lovely stuff
