An Amy Aiken project, only 40 cases made. Beautiful fruit profile of black currants, blackberries, and black cherries. Wonderful core of forest floor, black licorice, espresso, toasty oak, Rutherford Dust, and mineral notes. Smooth tannis right now with a nice long finish.

Big, beautiful Morisoli Cab. The nose took a while to open up and never became very overt but was still enjoyable with cassis and dark fruit prominent. Excellent fruit but outstanding acidity to counterbalance giving a rich but not overblown or too sweet palate. Velvety texture with the acidity keeping it in check. Minerals and spice came to the fore on the mid palate followed by a medium length enjoyable finish.

Decanted this wine for about 2 hours, and it still needed time. This wine was smooth, yet gained in tannins as it opened up.
Nose: Blackberry, Cassis and some chocolate. Nose was somewhat muted. Palate: Very silky and caressing texture. Enters with nice black fruit, then shows cherry, sassafras, bitter chocolate and some mint in the midpalate. Finish: Quite long and the tannis actually build as it opens.
This needs time, but is exceptional now. I think that the nose needs some time to gain its perfume that this wine had as a youngster.

Could have given this more time to come up to temp as some of the nuance did not show up, but still really good.
