Not feelin' this one as much as previously. A bit more out of balance than before and on the nose the smokey, leathery, earthy elements have now beaten the cherries and spices into submission. Can still finds hints of them on the palate.

Nose of dark chocolate covered cherries and smokey cured meat, with hints of dark roast coffee that's slightly burned. Earthy, robust, lots of character. Yummy.

This wine is at what i would call an inflection point. Prior tastings where more typical CA with some sophistication of French wines. Now the French influence has really started to take the stage up front with that great CA mid palette and finish.

Very dark in color. Thick syrup like in the mouth. Very rich with dark berries. Tannins slightly poke their heads up at the end but not over bearing. This is a fantastic wine. Grab it when you can.
