Auction buy, provenance unknown. Lots of sediment. Initial pour showed lots of red fruit and graphite on the nose. Nice on the palate at first, but a bit of astringency on the back end. Double decanted, gave it a couple hours of air. Returning to this, it deepened up. Tannins still pretty firm. Same notes as before, but add a nice herbaciousness to the nose. Not very fruit forward, very well balanced. It's unclear what the blend is here, guessing it's a left bank style.
