  • Very dark fruit with a touch of spice and a slight dill pickle note on the nose. The palate is smooth, matches the nose and with medium depth. This is a very good Volnay and very Leroy, but not terribly exciting. That said, it's damn tasty.

  • Medium red in color, after an hour nose opened up considerably with strong floral notes, dark red fruit, spices, mushroom, and slightly musky. Medium plus palate that is well balanced in terms of ripeness vs acidity, with good depth and nice long finish. Very fine tannins. Starting to be enjoyable but no need to hurry. Most thought it is a chambolle musigny and indeed it is extremely fine for a Beaune wine. The nay sayers will mention the house style is too dominant.
