Drink on Chinese Valentine’s Day. Deep garbnet, bright rim, dark hue, a well preserved vintage bottle. Generous aromatic nose of blackberry and tobacco, as well as probably cedar and graphite scents (I am not quite sure about it). Medium-bodied palate shows fine-grained tannins and crips. Well-balanced and lengthy, not as intense as some other vintages, performing well enough in a non-outstanding vintage.

Needed some time in the decanter to open up (2h). Classic Bordeaux flavours appearing but also a slight hollow mid-palate - a hallmark of the vintage !?

Cassis laden, smoke, spice & charcoal underpinned with some melting tannins to develop an intense hit of mocha and bitter chocolate. Sweetly fruited but a lovely dry tannic finish. Superb, and savoured every mouthful. 93 pts

Typical left bank, good but nothing too special. We had a glass and opened something else. I've had better from a "lesser" wine in a good vintage.
