- Brick color with fast forming legs and aromas of dusty. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of prune, strawberry jam and licorice anise with a light/medium body. Polished texture with a medium finish - Time to open this one. 19 yrs and still dark jammy with light pepper. Can feel the alcohol with a breath but its subdued in the sip. Been watching this in the cellar and skipping, but I'd go younger and try on another round!

Intense black/red, a bit clearing at the rim. Large bq w cassis, oak, some mint, barnyard, smoked tea. Rounded tannins, fresh acidity, still rather fruity. Coffee. Balance OK. Long, alcoholic aftertaste w cassis jam. Surprisingly youthful!!

A bit over its' peak. Wonderful on the nose but rather lame in the mouth. Has lost much of its' structure but still, it's nice and drinkable, although somewhat disappointing.

Decant for two hours. Nose still quite powerful even after fifteen years, dark berries, cigars and a hint of barn yard. The palate is still carrying the fruit well, oak and minty Coonawarra are evident. Finish is balanced and decent length...still has a few years left, great wine from a great vintage!

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Double blind tasting. A good drink but frankly at best moderately interesting today. Slightly green on finish.
