  • Enjoyed this wine with Oregon Alsea River Chinook salmon and they made a marvelous pairing. I was a bit worried about the age of the wine but it was still showing good fruit and a wonderful earthy bouquet.

  • Medium dark purple, blue, black fruits nose of ripe plums. Corked on the counter for several days. Dry, tart loganberry, full bodied, nice acid balance with soft tannins, and a slightly bitter, mineral element on the finish. Nicely drinking now, but may not get any better.

  • Medium ruby, lightly floral fruity nose. Dry, tart, ripe fruit with some clean mineral on the PnP. Not too many tannins and the no obvious oak. More of a bright berry, thin fruit. Definitely not a jammy fruit bomb, subdued though not austere, improves with food. Another night and the fruit is presenting itself, nice silky mouth feel. This may be in one of those dumb phases I read about between fruity and pleasantly aged that I have become to like. I agree more with Khmark on this one. Continues to improve with time, very good now, suble, tart red berry. Acid well balanced with fruit, nice finish with moderate tannins. The next night, last glass has developed a little metallic note to the pie cherry fruit. I was a little disappointed the first night based on the fruit, body and oak I liked on a previous vintage. With five days time corked on the counter, the development has resulted in another wine of aged subtlety that is thoughly enjoyable. I love aged PN and will continue to let them rest in the cellar for ten years. I was advised to drink the '06 early and shipped them off to my daughter. Perhaps I should have kept a few more.

  • Light and fragrant. Thought this has held up well for the vintage and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice.

  • Very fruit forward, and very large on the palate, but lacking in complexity. Somewhat sweet for a pinot, even syrupy. Long finish. It's obvious why this clone forms the basis for many of Willakenzie's wines, but alone it is somewhat single minded. Still, I enjoyed drinking it.
