Sample tasting at work (Oinoscent): Decanted and tasted. Thick core of black fruit, whole spice, full body, welcoming 40’ in decanter. Full throttle, ripe to overripe black fruit, cherry, berry, fruit in alcohol, whole spice, cinnamon, clove, thick but elegant oak frame, black olive notes. Palate following the same pattern, spice and ripe fruit, tight tannins, opens up nicely, youthful, long finish 1.10 hr in decanter. The wine opens up more, full black ripe berry, sour cherry, sweet spice notes, chocolate notes, floral notes. Palate smooth, juicy, decadent, spice, a touch warm, tannins still tight 1.50hr in decanter. The wine keeps the same profile in the nose ripe black fruit, balanced, smoked spices, palate dries up a bit, tight, alcohol warmth, med body and long finish

Consumed over two days, needs time to open up, best on day 2 (double decant). Big nose, plum, spice box, chocolate. High acidity, a bit grainy tannins, plum and some dark fruit, some tertiary notes with forest floor, good medium length without any gaps. Great, wish they still retailed for the 2008 price.

Initially muted this opened up beautifully after two hours in the decanter. Elegant and layered nose. Palate has yet to show much secondary or tertiary development, but I still enjoyed it. Definitely approachable now with a decant.

Very fresh, in its initial drinking window. Better after 2 hours in the glass. Lovely acidity
