NOSE: moderately expressive to expressive; diesel; pear; gentle lanolin/waxy minerality; a bit perfumy.

BODY: brilliant light yellow color; medium-light to medium bodied.

TASTE: moderate concentration of fruit flavors (mostly nectarine) — this tricked me into thinking it would have more r.s. than it did – it’s actually pretty dry; minerality comes through on the finish; hints of musk; this seems to be getting better with time – this was better than the 2 previous bottles I’ve had, as it’s starting to develop some slight tertiary character on the Nose, and is gaining some weight on the palate; 12.5% alc. is not noticeable; medium length finish of moderate intensity. Drink now or continue to hold; I like where this is going.

  • Similar to the prior bottle. A little less floral but still showing ripe pear, grapefruit and kiwi. Nice pairing for citrus-soy marinated grilled shrimp.

  • Drink with friends before going out to a benefit. The nose is very nice with lychees and minerals and just a whiff of sweetness. On the palate, the whiff of sweetness continues but it is more about fruit. We drank this without food and it made a wonderful aperitif, but I drank some of the left overs on day 2 with Indian Curry and it was just as good. I loved the oily texture. Screwcapped and great QPR.
