A nice ripasso, quite distinct, which makes it a good alternative to an amarone. Worked well with food as it is not so overwhelming as the latter. A bit sweet, however it is not too much, which is so often the case with wines from this region. Give it 30-60 minutes of air.

Nose of sweet red and black fruit. In the mouth sour, ripe, intense, and layered berry fruit (strawberry, red raspberry, some cassis) with an acid kick and hints of greeness. Fiinish of pseudo-sweet spice and fruit. Body medium, acid medium plus, tannin medium plus. Off dry to dry. Pretty tasty and good QPR as tested, in the mid-teens USD.

Aroma: cherries, hint of almonds Medium-bodied ripasso with medium+ acidity and dry tannins. Cherries on the palate. Moderate length. Slightly bitter finish.
Uninteresting, but easy-drinking wine.

Havana South Wine Club - Wines of Veneto (Havana South): Med+ ruby. Delicious nose of pure fruit gently enveloped in warm dustiness. In the mouth, fleshy. Needs acid - a bit flabby. $23
