  • Very nice smoke and cedar aromatics. Crisp purple and fruit of get from Santa Cruz mtns, fine tannins. Just a bit “muddled” on transition into the finish with a mature note—making me wonder if this was always a well kept bottle. Cedar smoke and tobacco on the finish. Seems mature and drinking well. Well kept bottles may be a bit behind this one on advancement.

  • Still drinking really well. Medium acidity, nice color, balanced cab. Great value.

  • The wine looks purple colored. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like plum and oak. It tastes like oak, plum and black pepper. The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

  • A complex, fully integrated tannins, and incredible wine. Sorry it's my last one from this vintage. I have always loved these cabs.

  • Re-iterate my 92 rating from last year. It's probably a 90-91 pt wine drinking like a 92. I've had several more of these in the last few months, with a handful left to go. The fruit has mellowed out it is not as jammy as some Cali wines can be. Nice balance of sharp acidity and silky fruit with a little soft tannin in the background. It's drinking at the peak now, it will not improve .... the future holds a reduction in acid until it gets flabby (that's a technical term!). So drink up now. It does benefit a little from a decant and approach it gradually over the first half hour, although I'm sure it's also fine out the bottle if you pop the cork 15 minutes before.
