Beautiful aged BDX nose, with fresh tobacco, sous bois, fruit compote and maybe a hint of lavender. This showed best after 15 minutes of air. Towards the end of dinner the palate started to fade a bit, with some iron notes seeping in. Drink now with a short decant.

Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: February 2020 edition (@home): Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah Popped and poured. Tasted blind. Clear, medium garnet-tawny color with brown hues. Clean, medium+, fully developed classic BDX nose with lots of tobacco, cigar box, herbs, lovage, speck, blood/iron and pepper. Deep and complex. Dry, medium acidity, still very good integrated. Malty, smoky flavors, some extract sweetness, blood/iron. Still has power, but is certainly declining. Medium+ finish with lots of menthol. Beautiful experience drink up. 88-90

A wonderful wine, still very much alive with both tertiary leather and damson primary fruit. Very close to perfect Bordeaux. This is generously built in terms of weight and fruit, quite hedonistic. Does not have the tannin or acidity to carry it much further but is gorgeous now.

👀 Medium ruby
👃 Pronounced red cherry, caramel, mushroom, animal
👅 Dry, medium acidity, red cherry, soft tannins, some oak, long finish
Quality: Outstanding
En komplex dryck med dominerande oväntad körsbärssmak men mycket andras smaker som ville vara med i dansen.
